AquaPruff has partnered with the Sports Outreach Institute (SOI), an organization dedicated to sports and Christian ministry. SOI currently has ongoing programs in Africa, Latin America and the United States but has a special need for raising monies for two orphanages in Uganda and Kenya. AP has committed 50% of the proceeds of the blue medium zippered tote, which retails for $44.95, to this cause.
Did you know that the average yearly income for a family of 5 in Northern Uganda is $11.00. That means the sale of one bag will provide a donation that is more than double the average yearly income of a family of five. Funds from the sale of the bags will be equally divided between two sites; Kirmobe Community Center, Gulu, Uganda and Tsunza Children’s Center, Kiberi Slum, Nairobi, Kenya.
Under the direction of SOI staff leader Aloysius Kyazee, the Kirombe Center feeds over 200 children five days a week, conducts Bible training and discipleship, provides vocational training in five areas, provides literacy program for adults, cares for a large number of children with HIV/AIDS, and provides daily afternoon program of Bible training, art, music, sports, and therapy for over 250 traumatized children.
At the Tsunza Center under the direction of SOI staff leader Franklin Shelimba and in cooperation with the staff of the Tsunza Center, the funds will be used to provide on-going medical care, housing, clothing and education for over 125 children stricken with HIV/AIDS. All of the children are 10 years of age or younger and have been abandoned by their families.
